1. Introduction & Overview

Welcome to Aura Privacy ("we", "our", or "the App"). We respect your fundamental right to privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy outlines how our mobile application handles device permissions, user data, and third-party integrations in accordance with the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement, Google Play User Data Policies, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

2. Data Collection & Processing

Aura Privacy is engineered with a strict privacy-by-design architecture:

• Zero Personal Identification: The app does not require account creation, email registration, phone numbers, or social logins.
• Volatile Memory Only: All screen tinting, reading spotlight calculations, and notification masking operations occur locally in temporary memory (RAM) and are discarded immediately.
• No Cloud Sync: No personal or operational logs are transmitted to cloud databases.

3. Android Permissions & Justifications

To deliver our core privacy protections, Aura Privacy requests specific Android permissions. Each permission is strictly limited to its declared purpose:

A. Display Over Other Apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW):
Required to draw the privacy tint shade, adjustable reading strip, and child lock touch blocker directly over your screen and other running applications upon your explicit activation.

B. Notification Listener Service (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE):
Used exclusively to detect incoming push notifications from specific applications you explicitly designate as sensitive (such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or banking apps) and obscure their preview on your screen. The app does NOT store, log, read, or upload notification text.

C. Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE):
Required to ensure uninterrupted screen privacy filtering and touch blocking while you navigate between third-party apps or watch videos. An ongoing notification provides constant transparency and one-tap controls to stop the service anytime.

D. Camera Permission (CAMERA - Optional):
Used strictly for the optional "AI Shoulder Surfing Detection" feature powered by Google ML Kit. Real-time camera frames are analyzed entirely on-device to detect secondary faces looking over your shoulder. Absolutely NO photos, videos, or biometric face data are ever saved, cached, or transmitted off your device.

E. Package Usage Stats (Optional):
Allows the app to automatically activate the privacy shield when you open user-selected sensitive apps (e.g. banking apps).

4. Third-Party Services & SDKs

Aura Privacy integrates industry-standard third-party SDKs for monetization and subscription management:

• Google AdMob (Google LLC): Used to display banner and rewarded ads in the free version. AdMob may collect pseudonymous device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID - AAID) and non-personalized diagnostic data according to Google's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat & Google Play In-App Billing: Used to securely process in-app purchases and subscriptions for "Aura Pro". Financial credentials and credit card information are processed directly by Google Play and never pass through our servers.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Aura Privacy complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Our "Child Lock" feature is designed as a parental utility to prevent accidental touches while minors watch media. We do not knowingly collect, request, or store any personal information from children under the age of 13.

6. Security & Data Retention

Because we do not store personal data or account profiles on our servers, there is no risk of centralized database breaches. All user preferences (such as opacity level and chosen sensitive app lists) are stored exclusively in your device's local Android SharedPreferences. Uninstalling the app permanently purges all local settings.
